- Improvements to rail services from Castle Cary meaning that more residents of Alhampton, Sutton and Ditcheat are walking to the station.
- The opening of The Creamery at the station attracting local diners from local villages including those listed above.
- The success of the Community Pub at the Alhampton Inn attracting people from Ansford and Castle Cary who walk via the Station.
- The new Haddon Wood between Alhampton and the Station which provides superb walks with vistas, ponds and a wildlife haven. This again is attracting walkers from Ansford and Castle Cary through the station.
